Services
At Quilts And Friends, we believe in sharing the joy of quilting. And one way of doing that is through our Quilters’ Reference Library. This has a wide range of patchwork and quilting books/magazines in English and Japanese which you are free to browse in-house for inspiration and project ideas. Some are the latest 2010 titles. (But no photocopying please.) The books shown below are just a sampling.
And for those of you who need to trace appliqué patterns or templates from your own books and patterns onto your fabric, we have a professional Florentine Artist’s Light box in the shop. You are welcome to use the light box in our sewing corner when it is not needed for classes.
We provide the following quilting services:
- Basting services for your quilts (bring your own pins for machine quilting) if you prefer to quilt it yourself
- Long arm machine quilting
- Heirloom hand quilting (on average 12 stitches per inch)
- Binding services for your quilt
Our rates are based on the size of the quilt; and on the technique and the complexity of the design. Come to the shop to find out more and to view up close the quality of our quilting services.
We are also a dealer for Bernina and Brother sewing machines.
